I am Gloria Spotti, a professional freelance conference interpreter and translator for Italian, English, and German. I have wanted to be an interpreter since childhood, and this dream became a reality in 2016. I am based in Milan but work abroad, too.
My professionalism is shaped by precision and punctuality, confidentiality and flexibility, and above all, by the ability to convey my client's emotions and ideas with the same empathy and understanding.
I was born in Parma in the early 1990s and graduated from the prestigious Liceo Classico Romagnosi with a classical high school diploma. In 2010, I moved to Milan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting at the Istituto di Alti Studi SSML Carlo Bo. This was followed by a linguistic internship atYamamay and a stay in the United Kingdom for a specialization course on interpreting. Next, I attended the same course, but this time in Germersheim, Germany, delivered by the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz.
Back in Italy, the IULM University hosted my Master’s degree in Conference Interpreting, where I graduated with honors a month after I began my main professional job: working as an interpreter and translator on live TV and off-air at QVC, the leading TV channel for shopping and entertainment. It was 2016, and my adventure there continued for another seven years, during which I explored the many facets of the interpreting world behind the scenes and beyond. Meetings with the CEO, events, and press conferences accompany me on this journey that has allowed me to interpret at the presentation of Armani’s new collection in 2018, in fashion courses at the Raffles Institute and the Polytechnic of Milan, at the World Energy Week,Milan Film Festival, and many more.
During my corporate experience, I also decided to consolidate my communication skills with a Master’s degree in German for international business communication at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. I count clients in publishing, TV, public administration, fashion, beauty, wellness, tourism, and legal to date. I also teach languages to young people and adults.
My profile is completed by linguistic training activities and teaching of the English language aimed at young people and adults.
